The 2014 design contest is the 15th time the Society for News Design has held the international contest and the third year in a row that the Hussman School has won the most overall awards of any university. Winners from the three contests can be viewed on the Society for News Design website: 2014, 2013 and 2012.

"Enslaved in America" is a graphic design project by students in professor Terence Oliver's classes that explores sex trafficking in the U.S. Students were advised by professors Barbara Friedman and Anne Johnston, and received research assistance from Park Library director Stephanie Willen Brown.
