Workroom FashionMash's "20XX: Envisioning the Future of Fashion and Lifestyle Brands"

Since 2009, advertising students in the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media have been working directly with lifestyle brands big and small to envision new ideas. Workroom is both a space (an actual workroom for prototyping and building) and a way of thinking. The program pairs clients with students and challenges them to move beyond the page or screen to bring concepts to life.

The Media and Journalism Alumni Association hosted an alumni Homecoming reception at the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, in the Freedom Forum Conference Center at 6:30 p.m. featuring the work of Professor of the Practice Dana McMahan's Workroom FashionMash course. Featured guests for both a morning panel session and the evening reception included Alison Ives, Associate Fashion Editor at Refinery29; Mariah Eckhardt, Director of Global Marketing at Burt’s Bees; and Leigh Goodwyn, President and Co-Founder at LeighDeux. Through the "20XX: Envisioning the Future of Fashion and Lifestyle Brands" event, students explored their vision for the future of fashion and technology.
