Alumna Julie "Jules" Dixon '91 is an NC Media & Journalism Hall of Fame publicist and a senior communications strategist with over 28 years of top-tier expertise in crisis communications, social media relations, sports marketing, integrated marketing, entertainment, corporate communications, internal communications and diversity/inclusion recruitment.

She is the managing director at PR Talent's firm in the D.C. and southeast region including the Carolinas, Atlanta and Miami. In 2017, she was promoted to executive director of diversity and inclusion at Golin after serving as the deputy managing director for 19 years. 

She was the publicity lead for one of Beyonce’s D.C. market press junkets that benefited the D.C. Ronald McDonald House.

Noteworthy career honors include MEA Magazine’s “Top 25 Women in Business” award and nominee for Essence Magazine’s “Top Marketing Leadership” award.

Dixon has lectured in the areas of integrated marketing, communications and crisis communications at UNC-Chapel Hill, Howard University and the University of Maryland. Since June of 2019, she has been a member of the UNC Hussman Board of Advisers.
