Society of Professional Journalists names Carolina Connection Best All-Around Radio Newscast for fourth consecutive year

The Society of Professional Journalists has named Carolina Connection winner of the Best All-Around Radio Newscast in its annual Mark of Excellence Awards. The radio show, produced by students of the UNC School of Media and Journalism, will be recognized at SPJ's annual conference in September in New Orleans.

AEJMC awards recent PhD grad with McCombs Shaw Award for Best Student Paper in Political Communication

UNC School of Media and Journalism 2016 Park Fellow and Ph.D. graduate Kylah Hedding has won the McCombs Shaw Award for Best Student Paper in Political Communication from the Political Communication Interest Group of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. Hedding will present her paper at the annual AEJMC 2016 Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in August.

This year, the UNC Institute for Global Health & Infectious Diseases is supporting six diverse projects in Nicaragua, Liberia, Zambia, Burkina Faso, Chile and Brazil.
