Assistant professor Allison Lazard’s paper, “Design simplicity influences patient portal use: the role of aesthetic evaluations for technology acceptance,” was published In the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association in December 2015.

The Society of Professional Journalists has named Carolina Connection winner of the Best All-Around Radio Newscast in its annual Mark of Excellence Awards. The radio show, produced by students of the UNC School of Media and Journalism, will be recognized at SPJ's annual conference in September in New Orleans.

UNC School of Media and Journalism 2016 Park Fellow and Ph.D. graduate Kylah Hedding has won the McCombs Shaw Award for Best Student Paper in Political Communication from the Political Communication Interest Group of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication.
