Doctoral alumnus to be recognized for writing nation’s top mass communication dissertation

Brendan Watson, a 2012 doctoral graduate, will receive the AEJMC’s Nafziger-White-Salwen Dissertation Award at the organization’s annual conference in Washington, D.C., in August. The award is given annually for the best dissertation in mass communication research.

Re-discovered Mercury astronaut video featured in J-school student-produced PSA

Adjunct faculty member Bruce Curran’s JOMC 333 class produced a public service announcement for the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation that features recently re-discovered 25-year-old video of the original Mercury astronauts speaking at UNC after having trained at the Morehead Planetarium more than 50 years ago. 

UNC J-school community to present at ICA conference in London June 17-21
