Dean Susan King joined other Carnegie-Knight deans to issue a statement about nonprofit status for news organizations.

The Hussman School of Journalism and Media at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking an experienced, successful public relations and/or external affairs leader to join the faculty as Public Relations Professor of the Practice, to begin in fall 2013.

The UNC School of Journalism and Mass Communication’s Powering a Nation project won two multimedia awards in the 70th annual Pictures of the Year International (POYi) competition for “100 Gallons.” It was the only student-produced work to win in the competition.

The 2013 Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication Southeast Colloquium will feature 13 papers from 12 graduate students from the UNC School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

UNC School of Journalism and Mass Communication students won nine awards in the 2013 BEA Festival of Media Arts, including best of festival honors in interactive multimedia and radio news.
