A vibrant and collaborative interdisciplinary research culture at the UNC School of Media and Journalism creates new knowledge, advances scholarship and helps reinvent media.

UNC School of Media and Journalism doctoral alumna Diane Francis '16 (Ph.D.) was recognized by the UNC Graduate School with a Graduate Education Advancement Board Impact Award for her graduate work in health communication in diverse communities.

This position will primarily support and assist the Center for Innovation and Sustainability in Local Media through the planning, production and evaluation of marketing and communication efforts and project management.

The UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media’s Undercurrent 360 project has been selected as a finalist for the 20th annual SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards in the Student Innovation category. The category recognizes exceptional interactive technology projects or startups.

The North Carolina Media and Journalism Hall of Fame will honor five outstanding leaders during a gala dinner and ceremony on Friday, April 7, at the William and Ida Friday Center in Chapel Hill.

Six faculty members, 11 graduate students and three alumnae will represent the UNC School of Media and Journalism May 25-29, 2017, at the 67th Annual Conference of the International Communication Association in San Diego.
