The school's professional education program is dedicated to providing journalists and communication professionals with the most up-to-date knowledge needed to succeed in an increasingly competitive market. Practical workshops and thought-provoking seminars offer advanced training in all areas taught in the school, including:
- Print, broadcast and online journalism
- Visual communications, including photography, multimedia and web design
- Advertising, public relations and marketing
Programs feature UNC Hussman faculty as well as experts from leading media organizations, communications firms and research groups. Programs range from weeklong workshops to one-day seminars, usually offered on Fridays in the Freedom Forum Conference Center of Carroll Hall.
