Carolina leads nation with four SPJ Mark of Excellence national winners

UNC journalism students led the nation with national winners in four categories of the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Awards recognizing collegiate work published or broadcasted during 2009.

The school rewarded top students and faculty with nearly $200,000 in scholarships and awards at its annual honors convocation on April 26.
Outstanding graduating seniors in each specialization were recognized as were outstanding graduate students.
