Five UNC School of Media and Journalism faculty — Joe Cabosky, Nori Comello, Rhonda Gibson, Allison Lazard and Adam Saffer — will each receive $5,000 in research seed grant funding from the school.

Three UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media doctoral students will present their research at the 40th annual conference of the Midwest Association for Public Opinion Research (MAPOR) in Chicago, Nov. 20-21, 2015.

Four UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media faculty members are participating in the National Communication Association in Las Vegas Nov. 19-22, 2015. Assistant professors Joe Cabosky, Dan Kim, Allison Lazard and Adam Saffer will present papers or participate in panel discussions.

Meredith Clark, a 2014 doctoral graduate of the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media, received a divisional dissertation award at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communications conference in August.

More than 30 faculty members and graduate students represented the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media Aug. 6 – 9 at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) national convention in San Francisco.
The Carolina contingent presented authored or co-authored papers or research posters, as well as received honors and serve as moderators, discussants and panelists. 

UNC School of Media and Journalism Richard Cole Eminent Professor Dan Riffe received the faculty mentoring award from the Carolina Women's Leadership Council.

A UNC analysis conducted by professor Seth M. Noar synthesized the results of different experiments comparing picture-based and text warnings.

Faculty members and graduate students will represent the UNC J-school at the AEJMC Southeast Colloquium hosted by the University of Tennessee College of Communication and Information March 26-28..

Kreiss draws on interviews with Obama and Romney campaign staffers and qualitative content analysis of their Twitter feeds to give an inside look at how they used the platform to influence agendas and frames.
